Cell Phone Ring Tones Rock!

The first basic ringtone started off in Japan in 1996. This was a phone on which a user could create an original melody. A book was published by the name of ‘Mobile Ringtones Do Re Mi’. The book had the notes of popular songs in it and sold over 3 million copies.

Thus the idea and market for the ringtone customer was born. The first ringtone that could be downloaded was produced in Finland in 1998. Japan soon after had the technology and the rest of the world followed in their footsteps until ringtones had reached every country and had taken over the youth generation. Now it is a multibillion dollar industry.

There is even ring tone comedy. Watch the following to see what I mean…

Very funny ringtone!

The revolutionary Roberts Toot-tone is the latest ring tone gimmick which converts gas into a ring tone!

The main reason behind cell phone ringtones being so popular is the idea of being able to personalize your own cell phone and impart your own style upon your phone which lets you set yourself apart from everyone else.

Another factor is that is it so easy to obtain your favourite tune or theme song. The customer can download them for free in most cases from the internet, or pay a small fee and have access to a cast library of songs and videos and sound clips which can then be used as a ringtone.

Just typing into a search engine online will give you a plethora of options to choose from. Be aware of the legalities involved in downloading songs. Anything which is copyrighted means the artist has the rights to the material and their permission is required to use it. Lots of ringtones are produced by people who then make them available for other people to use.

With the music scene changing constantly and new hits and tv shows and movies being released at a steady rate, there are so many choices to be made by the customer.

“…The standard Motorola ringtones that come with your phone can be, frankly, kind of boring. But luckily, there's no need to feel that you are "stuck" with the factory ones -- there are thousands, or possibly millions of alternatives available online. Some of these are available for a fee of course; but certain companies claim to offer 100% free ringtones as well…”

The cell phone is designed to store these ringtones so you can download a number of them from the internet and change them as often as you like. You can delete the ones that are out of date or that you don’t like anymore and add new releases about 24 hours after the song is first played on air at a radio station. The better websites will always be updating what downloads are on offer, some websites can be a bit dated but with enough research, customers can easily find what song or sounds they want for their cell phone.

Having your own ringtone is more of a statement about whom you are, it now means much more than just a sign that you have an incoming call. It is as personal as a pair of trainers or handbag. Your favourite band, jingle, sound track or noise can be used as a ringtone. Even if you wanted your favourite animal noise or a baby crying or someone saying ‘pick up the phone’ is available to download.

“…With the release of iPhone, there is a high demand now for music downloads. This gadget or device is not only a mobile phone but also a music player and that is the reason why users are looking for free iPhone music downloads…”

The range is huge which is why choosing your own ringtone is about personal choice and it shows people what mood you are in, what tv shows you like, what kind of sense of humor you have and many more personality traits. There are even seasonal options like Christmas songs, or happy birthday tunes.
